Erin's Great Eco Voluntourist Adventure

CampCampI had never camped in such an extreme way but it came so natural to me. Everything came second nature, as it did for everyone else.

Everyone Pitched InEveryone Pitched InThe teamwork played out beautifully. Each person contributed and made the stay smooth and comfortable.

Swimming in the Black RiverSwimming in the Black RiverMy favourite was swimming in the Black River itself. Your body turns to copper when you swim with the water. You can feel the healthy nutrients absorb in your skin, giving you the most incredible rush/high. One morning we had all woken up from a whole night of rain so we wanted to wash away that glummy feeling in the river. The aftermath was a huge uplift in our moods. It's the closest one can get to the Earth.

A Pure EnvironmentA Pure EnvironmentThere is a quote I stand by in life, "Don't water the unwanted in life", and having been in such a pure environment made me realize the undertones of it.

Respecting the ForestRespecting the ForestLinda's passion for her surroundings made me respect the forest in my hometown which I run in frequently.

The Black River Teaching LodgeThe Black River Teaching LodgeI now thank the air that I breathe, the plants I smell, the ground I walk upon, and even the bugs that bite because they are all here for us to live.
