Black River Teaching Lodge

Summer Schedule - The Building Project
Swans on the Black River RoadSwans on the Black River Road

Our first 2010 northern adventure was a huge success . . . the base camp is set up and we’re ready to begin serious Herb harvesting! To wet the appetite, please click here to see pictures of our camp provided by one of our participants. Thanks Erin.

The Black River Eco Voluntourist camping adventure is intended to create a unique community space. This pristine wetlands area is undergoing huge transformation, as our weather fluctuates. The property is being gently developed, off the grid, in a compatible way, with the surrounding Wildlands Provincial Park.

Volunteers help build the framework of a very special sustainable building. We will learn about Wilderness Evolution, Wild Crafting Medicine Plants, Basic Survival Skills and Sustainable Building. We will also camp on the land, eat gourmet campfire food, swim in a fresh water river, sing and tell stories around the campfire!

Our next Eco Voluntourist adventure is set for
July 19-22. Fee: $100
We leave at noon on Monday and return Thursday.
August dates are to be confirmed.
